North America

From Alaska's glacial passages to California's giant trees and the desert roads of Nevada and Arizona.

The American West, open road

From the notebook

These journeys are close enough to home to begin with a road, a ship, or a short flight, yet each one opens onto a completely different landscape.

Alaska brought ice and water. Sequoia offered the deep quiet of trees older than memory. The road through Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona traded neon for desert stone.

Each stop below leads to its own photographs and journal.
