Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Three nights, one rental car, and a family journey from the coastline to the evening streets of San José del Cabo.

The journal
Summer was here, and we had been itching to take a trip abroad. After working around the kids' schedules, we debated Cancún's nightlife, Mexico City's history, and Cabo's beaches. We chose Cabo because three of us had never been there.
We stayed at a Marriott Group hotel for three nights using loyalty points. A local rental car company gave us a much better deal than the international companies, without the surprise insurance fees.
With the car, we explored the region north to south and east to west. Cabo felt smaller and more relaxed than Cancún. We found local restaurants serving everything from fresh seafood and tacos to wood-fired pizza, and every meal became part of the trip.
We had an absolute blast and would definitely go back again soon.
