Two visits to the same edge of the Sea of Cortez: bright summer days on the beach and golf course, then a December return with the family.

Two visits

Rocky Point sits where the Sonoran Desert meets the Sea of Cortez. In July, the days belonged to open beaches, seafood, oceanfront golf, and sunsets that stretched along the sand.

We returned in December for a different kind of visit: cooler light, quiet water, and a home large enough to gather the family around one table. The landscape stayed familiar, but the season changed its rhythm.

Golf, lagoons, and seafood

Away from the beach house, the visit moved between oceanfront fairways, palm-lined lagoons, and tables crowded with the day's seafood.

Returning to the coast

Winter brought softer skies and quieter pools. From the room and the shore, the sea was always the center of the view.

A place for the whole family

Seafood, home cooking, and the Sonoran landscape

Meals moved between local seafood and cooking at home. Beyond the coast, saguaros and red mountains marked the desert road back toward Arizona.
